The role: Manager, Content Partnerships, YouTube
Google's line of products and services to clients never stops growing.
The Partnerships Development team is responsible for striking and
negotiating deals with Google's partners. Armed with your business
acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front
line, building pipeline, negotiating deals and helping partners build
sales and account management functions. You also manage revenue
creation and growth with our partners as part of our next generation of
product launches. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and
relationships with key industry players help shape great applications
and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.
Additional Role Description:
As a Manager, Content Partnerships for YouTube Entertainment, you have
an exciting opportunity to apply and hone business skills (e.g.
business development, strategy, marketing and project management) in an
environment that is entrepreneurial. You should be as comfortable
negotiating complex deals with Entertainment partners, as working
cross-functionally with colleagues in Product, Engineering, Sales,
Operations, Finance, Marketing and Legal to structure new business
models and generally provide the YouTube community with the best
possible user experience. Google's line of products and services to
clients never stops growing. The Content Partnerships Team is
responsible for striking and negotiating deals with Google's existing
partners and non-partners. Armed with your business acumen and product
knowledge, you are right on the front line, building pipeline,
negotiating deals and helping partners build audiences, manage their
channels thus being successful at YouTube. Your knowledge of relevant
verticals and relationships with players (internals and externals) help
shape great content for products such as YouTube, Google +, Google Play
and Google TV. The role includes a significant partner management
component. Once the deal is executed, you will need to lead management
of the partner relationship, including presenting ideas for increasing
monetization on YouTube and use of new features, using YouTube’s
content identification tools and partner embedded players, fielding and
prioritizing incoming requests, troubleshooting partner systems around
reporting, and creating periodic reports (external and internal) on
partner performance – as well as potential performance. You are
not only helping to execute on strategy, you are closing deals, and
managing revenue creation and revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate, structure, and negotiate high-impact strategic content
partnerships, as well as quickly structure and negotiate supporting,
lesser-impact, partnerships.
- Develop commercial video strategies with partners and work cross-functionally to ensure plan execution.
- Create content plans, and meet monetization goals on quarterly and
annual bases. Ability to foresee creative offerings (e.g., how college
football and/or cheerleading leads to training and fitness videos which
are then applicable to an entire sports vertical).
- Support new partners through launch process and liaise with YouTube
product and technical support teams that may be in other regions.
Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
- Media and/or digital media deal expertise is required.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Preferred qualifications:
- Proven track record of initiating and successfully driving new
business opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and deep
understanding of contractual processes.
- Ability to evangelize Youtube's platform internally and externally,
and to create excitement and enthusiasm for your product offerings.
- Fluency with technology, in particular online and mobile video.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills; outstanding
presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to work well
cross-functionally.
- MBA and/or JD
